Work on the gate continued today. We are hopeful completion will be this week. Gate remotes will soon follow.

We will shut off the water to repair a leak in the main line tomorrow between 10am-Noon.

As a final courtesy reminder, residents should not attempt to disturb or investigate on property that is not theirs. This includes turning off water, gas, or electric. Please make sure any repairs or evaluations of leaks are limited to your property only. You are allowed to help on lots when you have the lot renter’s permission to look into their property. If you notice a leak or any damage to property, please call or send a text/picture to the emergency line (956-556-0040). All reports of any concerns should go through management.

Weekend Update

The completion of the gate repair and upgrade is still pending. Work should continue starting Monday. As a reminder, the gate will not be closed after completion. We will get the new remotes out to as many residents as possible before closing the gate. An exact timeline will be given once we receive the new remotes. The old remotes will not work. Unfortunately, we will not be able to issue a credit or refund for the old remotes. Previous ownership did not keep record of purchases or the money that was received from residents. When residents receive the new remote, our office will keep record of all deposits and will provide each resident with proof for their record. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

The City of Weslaco will be on our property next week to spray for mosquitoes. We could not get an exact date and time but we are on this list for next week. Historically, we have found that the more calls they get from us, the faster they get the job done. The phone number to the City of Weslaco Public Works Dept is 956-968-3146. Please let them know you live at Trails End RV Resort and you are requesting mosquitoes spraying in and around the resort. Also, here as some tips for how to minimize mosquitoes around your home. If you are not currently in the resort, please consider passing this information along to whoever is responsible for maintaining your lawn. Together, we can help minimize mosquitoes in the resort.

As you may have noticed, our buildings are back open at 100% capacity. Please note, this does not apply for the kitchen area just yet. We are still pending company approval before we open the kitchen for business.

Lastly, the pool is open but the spa is closed. There were chemicals added after the storm that are not safe for residents to swim in. Please do not try to turn on the spa.

Pool Update

The pool is still closed and may be closed for the weekend. If anything changes over the weekend, I will send an update. I expect our regular Monday cleaning in an effort to open Monday evening or Tuesday morning. Update will follow to confirm.

A Wide Variety of Updates

I want to get some updates to you all as management will not be able to attend the Club meeting Monday.

Landscaping: THANK YOU for your help with this. We are still planning to cut Tuesday, but the number of lots is much less than it was originally. Continue to have regularly scheduled maintenance on your lot. We will continue to work with residents and vendors as best as we can with this.

Gate Upgrade: We are planning to have the gate upgrade completed by the end of next week. Once completed, we will still leave the gate open to allow time for residents to receive their new gate entry clickers. I will send an advanced notice before we close it. The upgrade will include a dedicated exit gate. Entry will look a little different. Due to our entrance road, the keypad will be on the right-hand side of the road. It will allow for visitors to contact the main office for access during business hours. We are also planning to allow residents the option of allowing access to visitors via landline phone. This means your visitors/guests will be able to call you for access. We strongly encourage all residents to get a new gate remote from the main office. We do not have the clickers yet, but a message will be sent out once they are received.

Gate Remotes: Your current gate remotes will NOT work on the new unit. These remotes do not provide as much security as the new remotes will. Unfortunately, we will not be able to do an exchange for new remotes. However, we will be requiring deposits of $35 per clicker. The deposit will be refunded to you when leave the property, whether seasonally or at the end of your lease agreement. A check will be mailed to you. We will have to receive the remote(s) back in working condition in order to return the deposited amount. A maximum of 2 remotes per lot, per person will be allowed for purchase. The fee for replacements is $60 and is non-refundable. Passing remotes to friends, family, vendors will not be allowed as each clickers will be specific to individuals/lots for security purposes. We do not accept cash payments. More information will be available the closer we get to receiving the remotes.

Rental Units and Lots: Please refrain from going in and disturbing property units without permission from the owner. If you notice anything suspicious about a unit on a lot, please contact the owner or the main office. This includes vacant property units and units of residents not on site. We have received complaints about residents walking and driving through lots, entering units, as well as adjusting electrical and HVAC settings. If you have prior approval from the owner of the unit, that is fine. Trails End is not responsible for damages or repairs to units.

Rec Hall Messages: A few negative messages have been observed in recreation hall spaces. Please refrain from leaving messages in our public spaces. Any concerns will be received by management at the main office or directly to corporate via the contact information in the policy. Damaged dry erase and bulletin boards may not be replaced by management.

AC Units: The AC units in the public spaces have been left on a cold setting in the public areas. In an effort to conserve energy, costs, and repairs, please return the temperature setting to the original level found before it was moved. We want to help avoid extended repair times everywhere we can.

May Meeting Follow-up: As a follow-up to our last meeting, we are close to releasing information about storage sites. We are also pending updated building capacity information and “pothole” repairs.

Landscaping Update

Please secure your regular maintenance schedule if you have not already. We did an evaluation Tuesday morning and we are still contacting residents whose lots need attention (over 70 lots). Observations include grass cutting, excess weed control, dead bushes, and grass/weeds in rocks.

We have secured our contractor to cut residential lots still in violation after Monday, June 7. We will take pictures and cut Tuesday morning. The invoice will be added to your account as detailed in the policy. Pictures can be provided upon request after Tuesday. This charge could easily be ~$100. I am working to help avoid this if we can.

Brush Update

Due to weather and truck repairs, we are not able to complete brush pickup today. We should have the truck back tomorrow and will plan to do pickup Thursday, June 3.

Weekend Updates (Better than SNL)

Water Shutoff: We do not have to shut the water off again today as we previously noted.

Pool: As a courtesy, we have agreed to allow Leisure World residents to use our pool while theirs is going through upgrades/repairs.

Brush Pickup: Will be done on Tuesday. We will do the best we can to get everything Tuesday, but anything left after 3 p.m. will be the responsibility of the lot resident. We will not be able to commit to pick-up beyond this day. Any vendors that are doing tree trimming are more than welcome to dump lot brush in the orange containers in the storage lot at any time.

Landscaping Warning: I want to give a courtesy warning as a follow-up to yesterday’s message about lot lawn maintenance. Please inform your vendors about any areas they should be cautious of while they are cutting your grass, most especially if you are not on the property. This is important to note as any necessary repairs needed in response to vendor damage will be at cost to the resident. Trails End is not responsible for any damages by vendors and will not seek payment from vendors, as we only work through residents who contact the vendors.

Memorial Day: Our office will be closed in observance of Memorial Day Monday, May 31. We join our residents, and everyone nationwide as we recognize and honor the memory of those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for our country. We will be back Tuesday, June 1.
