Pools and Trees

I originally thought we would have better news, but the pool and spa are still closed. We are working through an issue with the heater so we want to make sure it is running safely and “warmly.” Thank you for your patience.

Some good news, the Norfolk Pine tree project is moving along nicely. I have uploaded some pictures for your enjoyment. We will continue working for at least the next week or two. As a reminder, please use caution while traveling in the work zones.

Pine Tree Cutting Process

I want to give advance notice on the work process while cutting down the Norfolk Pines. There will be 2 crews working; one crew is cutting down the trees and another crew comes after to pick up the trunks and brush. Please be cautious around areas where the crew is working. The trunks and brush could be on the curbs for a a day or two as they are working. We will be extra flexible with this project, as the same company is responding to storm damage, but we will still look to complete the project within two weeks, weather permitting. At other properties, they averaged 6-8 trees per day. We have a little over 30 trees that will be cut. There may be leftover pine needles. If residents will bag the pine needles, we will pick-up anything that is bagged and at the curb during the project and the end.

Access to some of the trees will not be easy. We may contact you if advanced planning is needed to help assist with access to the trees. Naturally, extreme caution will be used to ensure property damage is prevented. If you notice anything out of the ordinary, please contact the Main Office. Please use caution in the areas where work is happening.

Thank you for your patience.

Brush, Pine Trees

Hopefully everyone is in good shape after the storm last night. We are still cleaning up as much as possible, but I wanted to get some information to you.

I just received the call, we are next on the list for the Norfolk Pine trees. The company will start cutting them tomorrow (Thursday) unless any emergencies come up. As noted in the previous blog post, we are allowing lot residents to keep part of the base as a “planters platform” for creative ideas. 5′ will be the maximum height we would leave stumped. Lot residents would need to clearly mark the tree at the height to be salvaged (you can use ribbon, spray chalk, caution tape, etc. to mark cut line).

We will pick up brush in response to the storm. We will start this week but will plan to end by early next week to allow for weekend work.

We are still pending pool repair, but hopeful it will be done today or Thursday at the latest. A message will go out once we are all set.

Continue to report anything you see on the property. As a reminder, feel free to text messages, pictures, and/or videos to the property cell phone (956-556-0040) if it is convenient.

Thank you.

Updates

The pool will remain closed. We are in the process of securing a time to have repairs done. I believe it could be down all week, but we will continue to get it back up and running sooner. As soon as it is available, I will send a message so everyone is aware.

The stray animal round up is going well so far. Traps were provided by the City of Weslaco Animal Control. This is important to know, as it has been brought to our attention that animals have been released. Please be aware, the city will fine individuals who release animals from traps. Residents of Trails End can also be subject to fines if this happens. We are ensuring that animals are picked-up in a safe, humane manner by working with the city. Any animal running free outside is subject to pick-up, so please make sure all pets are inside or outside on a leash as detailed in our policy.

Thank you.

Pool Closure

The pool/spa is currently closed for repairs. We are addressing an issue, which we hope to have repaired by Tuesday. I will send a status update by Monday afternoon. The gates will be locked, but access to the library is allowed through both laundry room doors. Take the hallway

We appreciate your patience with this.

Storage Lot Information

I want to make sure we are on the same page with storage vehicles on the property.

A few residents inquired about storage site parking. We do offer storage site parking at a rate of $50 per month. Our end goal will be to have a designated location for all storage. We understand there are concerns about the condition of the storage/trash lot, so we are evaluating what we can do to address those concerns. If anyone has past visual evidence of this (pictures/videos), feel free to send them to the Main Office. We will continue to work with contractors on a long-term solution to the storage area. Until then, we did not want to prevent anyone from parking their unit if they feel comfortable.

If you are currently parked on a vacant lot, you have not been asked to move by management. Continue parking as you have been. There is currently no charge for this. We ask that you report your vacant lot storage site to the Main Office so we have it for our records and for ease of contact. When this changes, you will be contacted by management about options. I am working with corporate on temporary options for storage since our current storage site is under evaluation.

Feel free to contact the Main Office if you have any questions.

Pools and Palm Trees

The pool restrooms are still out of service. We are continuing to work with the contractors this afternoon, but it may go into tomorrow.

If you are planning on trimming palm trees, please hold off. We are continuing to look into getting this done through an Encore contracted service. I will provide details as I receive them.

Pool Restrooms

The restrooms at the pool are out of service. Plumbing repairs will continue Tuesday morning. Anyone using the pool may want to shower and rinse at home before and after swimming.

Please note, it is important to NEVER flush paper towels in the toilet. Only tissue. Please do not flush a large amount of tissue, as well. If you need multiple flushes, that will work best. We want to help prevent interruption of recreational facilities as much as possible. You assistance with this effort is greatly appreciated.
